Mosquito Control

Keeping high standards for employee and citizen safety

Ground Spraying will be performed when conditions are favorable for mosquitoes. Staff will spray NW 75th Street to NW 114th Street on Tuesday nights, NW 118th Street to NW 142nd Street on Wednesday nights, and NW 142nd Street to Western City Limits on Thursday nights.

July 14, 2016

At the July 14, 2016, City Council meeting, a discussion was held on the issue of mosquito spraying.  Due to concerns about the West Nile virus, the City received requests for mosquito spraying from residents who were not receiving mosquito spraying in front of their property due to “no mosquito spraying” requests from their neighbors.  The Council was provided with information on the City’s operations, the product used by the City of Clive and the amount of active ingredient that is applied per acre (less than .007 lbs. per acre).  Based on that discussion, the City Council directed staff to discontinue its “No Mosquito Spraying” option.
