Prairie Burning

The City of Clive Parks department routinely partners with the Clive Fire Department to instigate controlled burns on areas of our natural prairie. Burning prairie is a natural process that helps stimulate germination and regrowth of the native plants that once grew all over Iowa. This process is also known to help conserve top soil – a precious part of soil hierarchy.

When burns are scheduled, information will posted to the City’s website as well as social media pages.
