The Parks and Recreation Board is an advisory board established to guide and advise staff on the needed facilities to provide open recreational areas and community facilities. The Board is responsible to hear citizen concerns, discuss current issues and policies and encourage leisure time programs for residents of all ages.
The Parks and Recreation Board generally meets on the first Monday of every odd-numbered month, as needed, or on call of the Chairperson if a special meeting is necessary. The meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall (1900 NW 114th St.) at 5:30 p.m. unless specified otherwise.
The seven members of the board, all residents of the City, each serve three-year terms. Members are appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council.
NOTE: It is the intent to have agendas posted no later than two business days prior to a meeting and minutes will be posted once they have been approved. If you are unable to find a recent agenda or minutes for a meeting, it may be possible that they have not yet been posted. Please check back at a later time.
