Mayor's Spring Clean-up

West of the Interstate: May 11
This is your chance to place old furniture and other bulk waste items at your curb for collection. Be sure to have all items at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the day of the pickup. Please mark any trash cans you want to save.
The following appliances will NOT be accepted:
Refrigerators - Stoves - Washers - Dryers - Dehumidifiers - Microwaves
Freezers - Water Heaters - Furnaces - Dishwashers - Air Conditioners
To arrange for a pickup of any of these appliances, call Waste Management at 515-265-5267. Seven (7) Large Item stickers per appliance will be required. Or, you can wait for the Electronics and Appliance Drop-Off Recycle Event that will be held on Saturday, May 18 at Clive Public Works, 2123 NW 111th St., where you can drop them off for free.
The following items will NOT be accepted during the Mayor's Spring Cleanup:
- Railroad ties
- Yard Waste
- Vehicles and/or major auto parts
- Buildings, major building parts or large piles of building materials
- Concrete chunks (ALL SIZES)
- Asphalt shingles over 65 lbs. in total weight
- Animal carcasses
- Banned substances, such as:
lead - acid - batteries - waste oil - explosive material - medical waste - drugs
poisons - highly combustible material - paint - any other toxic or hazardous substances
