Reminder - Inground Irrigation Systems

Summer is around the corner and the backflow prevention device on your irrigation system must be tested before your irrigation system is started up.
The city’s backflow prevention administrator BSI Online “Backflow Solutions, Inc.” will be sending written notifications later this month to water customers with irrigation meters servicing in ground sprinkling systems, informing you of the backflow testing requirements.
As you arrange to have your landscape company start up your lawn sprinkling system, your backflow prevention device needs to be tested before your system is started up and the test results must be submitted to BSI. We encourage you to require the tester to provide you with your own copy of the test report for your records. Because the city does not contact the testers, this responsibility falls on you, the property owner, to ensure BSI receives a copy of the test report.
If you don’t plan to use your irrigation system, you will need to fill out a Certification for Inactive Irrigation System form and we will take your property off the active list for the season. You must fill out the form each spring in order for your property to be listed as inactive. You can download the form here
