Mayor’s Corner

Development plans continue to progress for the new Clive Town Center along the 114th Street corridor.  In March the City Council initiated the process to identify a private sector partner to assist the City in the creation of the Town Center project.  A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) has been distributed to the development community and is available on the website.  The RFQ provides background on the project and requests information about any development teams interested in the project.

Responders to the RFQ will have to describe their development team and provide examples of successful projects they have completed in the past that corresponds to Clive’s intentions for the Clive Town Center project.  The responses to the RFQ are due in early April and an evaluation committee of elected officials, city staff and consultants will review the responses.  A short list of development teams will be selected to move on to the Request for Proposals (RFP) phase in the process where substantial detail and concept plans will be required of the development teams.

The Clive City Council is taking a very methodical approach to the Clive Town Center project.  The project is tremendous opportunity for our community and we are going to take every step necessary to ensure a successful and sustainable project for the Clive community to enjoy for many years to come!

As always, it is an honor and a privilege to serve as your Mayor.  Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions you may have.
