Sanitary Sewers
The Public Works Department maintains the wastewater collection system for the City of Clive. All wastewater flows are transposrted through Clive in pipes ranging in size from 8" to 30" to the Wastewater Reclamation Facility in Des Moines.
The department maintains approximately 72 miles of gravity sewer pipe and 1610 manhole structures. Maintenance duties include high-pressure jet cleaning of all public sewer lines, video inspecting public sewer mains, and visual inspection of all public manhole strucutres. Infrastructure deficiencies identified are then put on a repair or rehabilitation schedule based on severity.
