If you see signs that your neighborhood is having its streets swept, please take the time to move your vehicles from the street. Please notify Public Works if you detect any problems with the drainage or storm sewer problems in your neighborhood.
TREE TRIMMING
While you’re trimming the trees and shrubs on your property make sure the trees (in your yard and in the right-of-way abutting your property) that overhang the sidewalk and street are trimmed to the proper height for clearance of pedestrians and vehicles.
Every owner of any tree overhanging any street or right-of-way shall prune the branches so that such branches do not obstruct light from any street lamp or obstruct the view of any street intersection and so that there is a clear space of eight (8) feet above the surface of the sidewalk and fifteen (15) feet above the traveled surface of the street. Clive Code of Ordinances Section 151.05
In the case of trees existing in the parking, the owner or person in possession of the abutting property shall keep the trees on, or overhanging the street, trimmed so that all branches will be at least fifteen (15) feet above the surface of the street and eight (8) feet above the sidewalks.” Clive Code of Ordinances Section 151.06

Please be courteous of pedestrians who use the sidewalk abutting your property – ensure that tree branches are trimmed to a minimum height of eight (8) feet above the surface of the sidewalk.
