MOSQUITO SPRAYING
Mosquito control in the City of Clive consists of a two-step program.
Ground spraying. When conditions are favorable for mosquitoes, staff will spray Anvil 2 + 2 Adulticide east of I35/80 on Wednesday nights and west of I35/80 on Thursday nights. Start time is 9:00 PM on city streets and no earlier than 10:30 PM in the parks system.
Due to concerns about pesticide exposure, the City will maintain a list of those residents who do not wish their property to be treated with pesticides. Annually, residents must request a form be sent to them. The form must be returned to the Clive Public Works Department in order to be added to the list. The sprayer will be shut off approximately 200’ from the property. This is the maximum distance that will be used due to those residents who want the benefit and protection of the service.
