Command/Supervisory Officers
Lt. John Brodersen is the Uniform Patrol Commander, responsible for the operations of patrol services, jail administration, and serves directly to the Chief of Police. Lt. Brodersen also serves as a Public Information Officer for media relations and is a certified instructor for the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in the courses of Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Traffic Occupant Protection Strategies, Operation KIDS and Law Enforcement Education Training. Additionally, he manages the Department's Traffic Safety Grant Program with the Iowa Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau, oversees the Field Training Unit for new officers, and is an administrator for the Red Light Automated Camera Enforcement Safety Program. Lt. Brodersen is a 1985 graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, having served the Clive Community since 1988, and is a 2007 graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Sgt. Vern Lukehart is the commander of the Criminal Investigation Division where he oversees and supervises the department's three detectives.

Sgt. Damon Herzog is currently assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division as the Third Watch Commander and as an assistant team leader for the Suburban Emergency Response Team (S.E.R.T.) Sgt. Herzog is one of the department's Firearms Instructors. He also is an instructor in Patrol Rifles, Tasers, Close Quarters Battle and Active Shooter Tactics.
Sgt. Richard Stoen is currently assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division as the Second Watch Commander.
