Responsibilities - The Parks & Recreation Board is an advisory board established to guide and advise staff on the needed facilities to provide open recreational areas and community facilities. The Board is responsible to hear citizen concerns and encourage leisure time programs for residents of all ages.
Meetings - The Parks & Recreation Board generally meets on the first Monday of every month, as needed, or on call of the Chairperson if a special meeting is necessary. The meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1900 NW 114th St., at 5:30 p.m.
Membership - The seven members of the board, all residents of the City, each serve three-year terms. Members are appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the City Council.
The Parks & Recreation Board is an advisory board of seven appointed residents. The Board is responsible to hear citizen concerns, discuss current issues and policies, and to guide and advise staff.
