*New in 09: The Red Cross has updated the Learn to Swim program based on research and top expert recommendations in the field. In 2009 Clive will implement the update, which adds a Pre-School Aquatics program for ages 4 & 5. Pre-School Aquatics, taught without parents in water, breaks down past levels 1 & 2 into three groups to give children a positive, developmentally appropriate aquatic learning experience emphasizing water safety and survival concepts which are age-appropriate.
Youth ages 4 & 5 will sign up for Pre-School aquatics, while children ages 6+ will sign up for Levels 1-6. See the brochure for more information, or contact McKenzie Kiger, Recreation Supervisor at the Parks & Recreation Department, 515-223-5246.
