The Parks & Recreation Department currently maintains 13 parks with two more parks coming soon. City park land totals nearly 350 acres, including 125 acres of turf grass and nine miles of trails. The Aquatic Center is operated by Parks & Recreation and has three separate bodies of water including three water slides, a leisure pool, and a lazy river. Open-air shelters are available to rent, along with two indoor meeting facilities. Recreation opportunities are also available through the Parks & Recreation Department, from toddlers to seniors.

To enhance the quality of life and encourage healthy lifestyles of Clive residents through quality parks and open space facilities, nature areas, trails, and recreation programs.
