Maryjo Welch
Maryjo moved to Clive in December 1965 when 86th Street was hardly more than a two-lane gravel road and the Greenbelt hadn't even been thought of.
One of her reasons for choosing Clive was (and is) the tax rate that generates the money for the excellent services the City has. Their first winter here, after the first icy snowfall, her husband was concerned about getting out of Summit Drive onto 86th Street to go to work and was pleasantly surprised that the streets had already been plowed and sanded.
Prior to her appointment to Planning and Zoning in 1992, Ms. Welch served on the Budget and Capital Planning Committes and was a member of the Clive Festival Committee for a number of years. She was the vice chair of the Commission prior to being elected chair in 2002.
