Benchmark Information

In the Spring of 2006, th City of Clive created a survey control network to be used by City personnel, area consultants and developers.  The network was created to ensure that a consistent vertical and horizontal datum is used by all. 

The NGS (National Geodetic Survey) HARN (High Accuracy Reference Network) was used as the baseline for the creation of the network.  The following coordinate system specificaitons wer used:

Coordinate System:  NAD Iowa State Plane South Zone (1402) (US Survey Feet)

Projection:  Lambert Conformed Conic

Vertical:  NAVD88 (US Survey Feet)

The original survey control network consists of 40 primary control points set at strategic locations and constructed by the City of Clive.  Additional control points will be added to the network as construction continues in undeveloped areas.
