We would like to welcome you to Clive, a community which has grown from 752 people
in 1960 to 14,125 today. Our growing prosperous city is located at the hub of a thriving
suburban area which lends itself to convenience and a relaxed living atmosphere.
Responsibilities - The City Council and Mayor represent the City as political leaders and are responsible for adoption of the city budget and determining the tax rate, enacting legislation, and general policy making decisions on behalf of the community as a whole.
Meetings - The City Council meets on the first, third, and fifth Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, 1900 NW 114th Street. One of the first items on each agenda is the Citizens' Presentation. Concerns may be brought to the council at this time. This portion of the meeting is designated for topics and concerns not on the agenda. Comments are limited to no more than five minutes during the Citizens' Presentation.
Membership - Clive is governed by a Mayor and five Council Members who are elected at large on a non-partisan basis. Elections are held the 2nd Tuesday in November during every odd numbered year. The routine administration of city business is carried out by an appointed City Manager and the city staff.
Agendas for meetings and other public notices are regularly posted on a bulletin board at Clive City Hall, the Dahl's Store on 86th Street, and the Dahl's Store on 156th & Hickman. You may also review the council meeting agendas and minutes on this website. An audio webcast is available of each meeting by clicking on the icon next to the appropriate date.
