NOTICE

Beginning Monday, July 21, 2008 the following traffic related closures will be in place on NW 86th Street in Clive:

  1. Northbound traffic will be shifted to one outside lane between Sunny Hill Drive and Hickman Road.
  2. The northbound left turn lane onto Hickman Road at the intersection will be closed.
  3. Southbound traffic will be shifted to one outside lane between Hickman Road and the south Dahl’s entrance.

Construction crews will be completing full depth patches and median reconstruction in this area.  One lane of traffic in each direction on NW 86th Street will remain open at all times.  This revised traffic pattern is expected to be in place for approximately one week during this phase of construction.

Construction Project Updates

Please keep in mind these updates are subject to change at any time due to weather or various other extenuating circumstances.

2008 Transportation Improvement Work Planned at NW 86th Street and Hickman Road
  • Construct new northbound lane from Franklin Avenue north to right-turn approach at intersection
  • Construct eastbound right-turn lane onto Hickman Road
  • Construct permanent medians at all quadrants

The items above constitute approximately 8 weeks of work. Weather-permitting, there will be approximately 5-6 weeks of some lane closures/narrowing.

The tasks below will begin once above road improvements are near completion.

  • Traffic signal installation at Dahl’s intersection
  • Construct frontage/access drive at the location formerly occupied by Pizza Hut
  • Install sidewalks on the east side of NW 86th Street
  • Install decorative street lighting from Franklin Avenue north to Hickman Road
  • Begin work on constructing the gateway monuments and landscaping near Dahl’s
