Drivers License & Vehicle Registration

You are required by Iowa law to register your vehicle upon becoming a resident and to obtain an Iowa drivers license within 30 days. If you are moving within Iowa you need to notify the State of your new address. For locations of drivers license testing stations, please click here.

Please note: Clive residents living west of NW 142nd Street must register their cars with Dallas County in Adel, and those east of NW 142nd Street with Polk County in Des Moines.

Clive residents are eligible to renew your vehicle licenses online through the Iowa Tax and Tags website.
